Veteran Homelessness in the United States

In 2010 the Obama Administration released Opening Doors, the nation’s first strategic and aggressive plan to prevent and end homelessness. It aimed to end veteran homelessness by 2015. In an effort to call officials into action, First Lady Michelle Obama issued The Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness; mayors across the country pledge to work towards the 2015 goal. Although 696 mayors have pledged and veteran homelessness has decreased significantly, that goal is not achieved and many major cities have yet to pledge. View the map below to see how your state is doing in the fight to end veteran homelessness and check if your mayor has pledged!
